Ghaul was unique amongst the Cabal in that, instead of seeking to conquer the Traveler & seize its power by force, he at first legitimately sought to study its esoteric motivations & prove himself & by extension his species worthy of it.
The fact the Traveler only broke the Cabal cage encircling it AFTER Ghaul stole the Light & tried to affected a corrupted form of resurrection after his initial defeat is very interesting for 3 reasons.
One, it implies the Traveler was not in fact helpless at all & could have broken free at any point. Two, it only chose to break free at that specific moment. And three, it means it was very likely the Traveler was TESTING Ghaul’s worthiness as a potential Lightbearer.
There’s no hard proof that this was the case of course, but considering its subsequent revival of Savathun & motivations thereof, I believe it’s a very good possibility considering the evidence.
Among Cabal, Ghaul was their aspiration…strong, cunning, disciplined, inspirational & brutal when necessary but philosophical when appropriate. If there was ever to be a Cabal Guardian, I truly believe he would have been the first.
And while the Traveler did not engineer or anticipate the Red War, I believe it saw potential in Ghaul the way it subsequently did with Savathun and, instead of simply shaking off the cage, it chose to play at being helpless out of curiosity to see just what Ghaul’s true intentions & character was while assessing his worthiness.
In the end though, I believe Ghaul failed that test when he finally cast aside his principled stance out of anger & frustration to attempt to take the Light by force. And when the Traveler saw the depths of his arrogance in his flawed resurrection even after his defeat by the Guardian, it saw all it needed to see which is why I believe it chose that moment to shatter its bindings & annihilate him for good.
So now to the more interesting question…what if Ghaul HADN’T abandoned his principles in a fit of anger at the last moment? What if, upon seeing the approaching confrontation w/ the Guardian, he once again rebuffed the Consul’s rash advice and, coming to a realization about the Speaker’s words about sacrifice, chose to fight us on his own terms & died with honor after a hard fight?
If this scenario had played out, I truly believe that after some time had passed in the smoldering aftermath, a lone Ghost would have appeared & raised Ghaul as a Lightbearer as he would have passed the final test: devotion leads to sacrifice.
Confused & with no knowledge of his past, who could say what would have come next for him?
I need gear help for a quest. I’m trying to do the “darkness in the light” quest. Any tips?

I was doing the glassway strike today and managed to beat one of the vex bosses to death. Best moment of my titan career
I'm keil I'm a huge fan of the game destiny 2.
This is my character:
If there was a destiny show I think the Iron Lords would be a good point to start. Bassicly its the dark ages and would be like the knights of the round table. It could start with an Iron Lord helping a small group of survivors to safety in a small town. Form the perspective of the survivors the Iron lord would be talking to themselves (talking to their ghost) and would throw themselves into battle and constantly come out unscathed even though their armor wouod be damaged. They would also be seen using powers and a super. Towards the end of the episode the Iron Lord would fight off some enemies but fall in battle as other Iron Lords arrive and get the survivors to safety the final scene would be a ghost appearing and bringing the Iron Lord back to life and it would cut to black. The next ep could be explaining what the Iron Lords are or something
…change anything about any exotic, what would you do? Personally, being the fanboy that I am, I would make it so that Last Word has a catalyst that adds auto loading holster, and +30 range
Should enemy and character infobox template have a category for faction?
I was asked this question by one of my friends and i'm here to say, no, they are completely different, first of all, destiny and destiny 2 are free to try, warframe is free to play, their stories are different, destiny has a main character, warframe has several main characters, they are different
Hello! I love Eris and the Drifter so much, their lore is absolutely beautiful. Has anyone else read the latest lore of them?

If Root of Nightmares ever got a rework, what would you like to see in it?
If new darkness subclass supers ever come to the game, what would you want to see? For the Berserker subclass, I would want to see either a strand minigun, or a super that lets you pick up and throw small enemies.
In the original Dark Timeline, the Traveler lost to the Darkness as it’s greatest champions were corrupted while Eris Morn lost her sanity & soul.
And yet…in that final titanic collision of Light & Dark, hope unexpectedly remained as Elsie Bray, the Exo Stranger, woke to find herself back in time to a point long before the prior events had come to pass.
And despite countless failures & the fraying of her own psyche, she continued to seek a new future for her sister & all of us, a future due to her & our Guardian’s actions that has broken the seemingly endless cycle to make our own fate.
So what if it wasn’t an unforeseen event brought about by a collision of opposing paracausal forces? What if the Traveler in its final moments acted to create one last contingency with one extraordinary woman?
I believe Elsie was that contingency. Seeing her extraordinarily love for her sister & indomitable will, I believe the Traveler manipulated the final clash in the Dark Timeline to create a paracausal loop around her knowing she would never give up hope to create that better future & protect those she loved.
And in doing so, the Traveler gave itself & Humanity a chance to create a future outside of the Witness’s influence & defeat the Darkness once & for all.
If you could have all of the following IRL, which would it be?
1 Exotic
1 Legendary or below Primary
1 Legendary or below Secondary
1 Legendary or below Heavy
A class (Titan/hunter/warlock)
One weapon you want unvaulted or returned?
What would be a mission IRL you would do with friends (plus rewards and no permanent death)
Would you rather have a ghost, a hive ghost or a subclass?
In a completely separate fandom I unknowingly created a paracasual character.
Anyways- what class do you guys play in Destiny?
I got an abyss defiant with incandescent and was wondering if it stacked with the cursed trall perk as well doing more damage or if it cancels it out.
I didnt even know my Judgement of Kelgorath was a god roll
Even funnier it was the one from the history missions idk what they're called
